As the 1960s came to a close, Miles Davis had begun to drift away from traditional jazz music, as his second "quintet" period reached an end. He had been toying with jazz fusion in live settings, and on his two 1968 releases Miles In The Sky and Filles de Kilimanjaro. Then came 1969's In A Silent Way, an experimental work of jazz music, which featured revolutionary production and editing techniques, and contributions from many of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, among them were Herbie Hancock on keys, Wayne Shorter on saxophone, Tony Williams on drums, and then newcomer John McLaughlin, who would go on to form the acclaimed Mahavishnu Orchestra.

With such an eclectic sound, and a stunning array of talent, many jazz critics referred to In A Silent Way as "the kind of album that gives you faith in the future of music." In A Silent Way is an album that foresaw where the genre was headed and gleefully embraced the future, setting the stage for greater things to come, as Miles Davis entered the 1970s.

Complex is certainly an accurate name for the articulate popstress Montaigne’s second album.  Three years in the making, themes covering loneliness, isolation, distorted love narratives,  the desire to escape, self-realisation, illness and fury all interact and percolate amongst themselves on Complex, and Montaigne does a spectacular job of expressing herself with eloquence, passion and impressive technical skill.  Speaking on the inspiration and work behind the album, she says, “The right songs all came together over this three year period and so each song pertains to a different period of my life.  It’s basically a series of portraits of all of my insecurities, or the weird relationships I’ve been in or neurotic feelings I’ve felt while being attracted to others. The album's like this veil behind which I stashed all these secrets I was keeping from myself.”

Montaigne worked with long-time collaborator Tony Buchen on Complex, as well as several other producers some of which included, Wynne Bennett (Twin Shadow, Janelle Monae), Kyle Shearer (Dua Lipa, Broods, K. Stranger Things: Soundtrack from the Netflix Original Series, Season 3 will feature 15 classic tracks and the debut of an original cast recording.

Matthew Sweet is an American singer-songwriter and rock musician. He was part of the burgeoning music scene in Georgia during the '80s, before gaining commercial success in the '90s. His fourth album Altered Beast was recorded together with some famous musicians, like Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Jody Stephens (Big Star) and Richard Lloyd (Television).

It covers all sides of his musical personality, going from country-rock to punk. It's a quite dark album, presenting Sweet's pain in different aspects of life. "I don't like knowing people. I don't like people knowing about me" he sings. The best part is just to see this album grow after a few listens and that's when it all falls together.

Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning artist and producer, Mark Ronson, is back with his highly-anticipated fifth studio album, Late Night Feelings, releasing June 21.

Recorded in the wake of an acrimonious divorce and custody battle, 1978's divisive Street Legal preceded Bob Dylan's trio of religious themed albums and found him chasing a fuller big band sound with a horn section and female back-up vocalists embedded in the elaborate arrangements. Cut with producer Don DeVito (Desire, Hard Rain), it's no coincidence that it falls between Desire and Slow Train Coming, Saved and Shot of Love as it exhibits aspects  of the former's colorful artistry and the latter grouping's religious undertones. Although Street Legal may have broken a three album run of No. 1 hits, Dylan in transition with a lot on his mind is captivating none the less and it contains several undeniable classics including "Changing Of The Guards," "Is Your Love in Vain?" and "Where Are You Tonight? (Journey Through Dark Heat).“

Bob Dylan’s 1974 masterwork Planet Waves found him reuniting with the Band, by then firmly established as virtuosos in their own right. The chemistry is obvious on every song and the modest and spare production only magnifies the honesty and purity of the collaboration. Planet Waves is at its core an exhibition of the inimitable folk-rock honed by Dylan and the Band. Recalling the Americana spirit of The Basement Tapes while adding a domesticated edginess and subtracting a degree of wildness, the set personifies simple charm and scraggly sweetness. 

Per Dylan's hallmark, many tunes involve twists and subterfuge. Not, however, the best known offerings – the often-covered wish "Forever Young," celebratory roll-and-tumble "On a Night Like This," devotional "You Angel You," which spark with love, romance, and prayer like tenderness.

Bob Dylan's Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid served as a potent soundtrack to Sam Peckinpah's western of the same name. Dating from 1973, the Grammy-nominated set continued a rustic current Dylan explored on prior efforts such as Nashville Skyline and John Wesley Harding. It also demonstrated the singer could successfully lend his talents to a film and produce music that not only illuminated the mood, personalities, and actions on screen but exist and thrive independent of them.

The album also remains both distinctive and intriguing for the cast Dylan assembled for its creation – and their collective performances. Echoing Ry Cooder's adventurous, epoch defying journeys that would soon follow, the 10-track album effortlessly breathes with country, folk, blues, and old-time pop flavors. A-list collaborators, including drummer Jim Keltner, fiddler Byron Berline, Booker T. Jones on bass, and Byrd legend Roger McGuinn, assist Dylan in making instrumental portraits such as the pensive "Catalina Theme (Working for the Law") and the spry "Turkey Chase" teem with detail, character, and a definite sense of place.

Keep It Simple (2004) is the seventh studio album by blues artist Keb' Mo'. The album won a Grammy in 2005 for best contemporary blues album, and features Robben Ford, Robert Cray, Vince Gill a.o. LCD Soundystem release their Electric Lady Sessions album, comprised of both new and old tracks as well as three covers. The whole album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in NYC in January of last year amidst their tour behind their comeback album, 2017’s American Dream, their first studio album in 8 years.

WALLS is Streisand’s first album comprised mainly of original songs since 2005, and her first album ever to focus around a unified social theme. WALLS finds Barbra exploring both her concerns and hopes for the future in a collection filled with beautiful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. After almost 3 years since their last release, The Script have returned with their brand new single "Rain." Now, the Irish three-piece announce more news - their fifth album, 'Freedom Child!' The Concert in Central Park is the first live album by American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, released in February 1982. It was recorded in September 1981 at a free benefit concert in Central Park, New York City, where the pair performed in front of more than 500,000 people. This concert and album marked the start of a short-lived reunion for Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. Besides hit songs from their years as a duo, their set-list included material from their solo and duo careers, and covers. Among the songs performed were the classics "The Sound of Silence", "Mrs. Robinson", and "The Boxer"; the event concluded with a reprise of Simon's song, "Late in the Evening”, many newly arranged with an expanded 11-piece band

Released in 1988, Tougher Than Leather was the culmination of the Rap/Rock road that Run-DMC travelled in since their earlier albums King Of Rock and Raising Hell. Its superb production, booming 808 beats combined with guitar samples, catchy choruses and smart rhymes made Tougher Than Leather undoubtedly the best Hip Hop record that came out in 1988. Great tracks include "Mary, Mary", "Run's House" and "I'm Not Going Out Like That". Nas' 'I Am...' was his third studio album release and proved his reputation of one hip-hop's leading rappers. Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter John Mayer releases his highly anticipated forthcoming album 'The Search For Everything!'
