With this album Cypress Hill turned towards a more tranquil, sedate, slower, spooky sound with beats. The dark mood of this album reflects the strife within the band during this era, when member Sen Dog temporarily left the band to pursue other projects.  On this album both Wu-Tang Clan members RZA and U-God make appearances on "Killa Hill Niggas". Also notable was track "No Rest For The Wicked" which ignited the feud between Cypress Hill and rapper Ice Cube, who they claimed, stole material from the band.

“Iron Flag” is the fourth studio album by American East Coast hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan, released in 2001. Having churned out a myriad of solo projects since their breakthrough group album “Enter The Wu-Tang” and “Wu-Tang Forever”, the crew surprisingly came together a year after “The W “ to launch a new album.
Rather than stick to one unified sound for most of the album's tracks, as with previous Clan albums, much of Iron Flag returns to many different individual sounds and styles that the Wu-Tang had visited over the years. Sonical influences range from RZA's “Bobby Digital” sound to the gritty style of the Wu-Tang's debut album, and the sped-up vocal samples style of “Wu-Tang Forever”.
“Iron Flag” also makes use of non-Wu artists well known in their own right: Flavor Flav of Public Enemy and soul legend Ronald Isley make appearances.

OOOOOOOHHH...ON THE TLC TIP (VINYL)

A hip-hop album with major pop crossover appeal, TLC's 1992 debut was an instant success. The trio of young women--T-Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye--projected a playful and colorful image, wearing bright, floppy clothes and using prophylactics as fashion accessories (Left Eye used to wear a colored condom as an eye patch, hence the nickname). The music was equally vibrant, trading off Left Eye's sandy raps, T-Boz's low-register come-hither croon, and Chilli's sultry R&B vocal melodies, creating an infectious, high-energy buzz. With singles like "Baby-Baby-Baby," "What About Your Friends," and the party-anthem shout-out "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," the group approached subjects like sex and friendship with a youthful, inexplicit innocence.

The first record by Cypress Hill, simply called Cypress Hill, made quite an underground impact and at the same time remained relatively undiscovered by the mainstream until Black Sunday hit the stores two years later. The record showcases a new approach to Hip Hop of the early '90s: stoned lyrics on stoned beats being delivered in a weird and innovative, Latino ghetto style. By many considered the best album of Cypress Hill, this one at least has the most raw funk to offer. Muggs digs deep into the crates and comes up with funky-ass SP1200 beats. "How I Could Just Kill A Man", "Hole In The Head" and "Stoned Is The Way Of The Walk" are just a few contenders for best songs on the album.

Released in 1988, Tougher Than Leather was the culmination of the Rap/Rock road that Run-DMC travelled in since their earlier albums King Of Rock and Raising Hell. Its superb production, booming 808 beats combined with guitar samples, catchy choruses and smart rhymes made Tougher Than Leather undoubtedly the best Hip Hop record that came out in 1988.
Great tracks include "Mary, Mary", "Run's House" and "I'm Not Going Out Like That". Its equal appeal to Hip Hop as well as Rock fans made the album a million seller, and underlined Run-DMC's stature as living Hip Hop legends all over the world.

Following the success of King Of Rock, Raising Hell (1986) raised more than just a massive revenue stream by selling over three million albums worldwide. It's a well known fact that the record, produced by Rock/ Hip Hop production pioneer Rick Rubin, raised the bar for Hip Hop albums in general.
Musically it indeed raises hell, being crammed to the brim with hard-hitting hooks, loops, samples, scratches, inventive tong-twisting braggadocio and catchy choruses.  Too many classics on this one:  "Peter Piper" with the massive Bob James bell drum sample, "It's Tricky" (putting The Knack's "My Sharona" sample to extremely good use) and the song that popularized a certain brand of shoes in the Hip Hop community, "My Adidas".
However the album's flag bearer is undoubtedly "Walk This Way" which literally rendered Aerosmith's original version obsolete. The album's timeless quality surfaces in its ability to bring together masses of fans of both genres.

With this fourth album, Cypress Hill managed to hit the #11 spot on the Billboard album charts and it was certified gold.

As one-half of OutKast, he achieved seven GRAMMY® Awards, sold 25 million records, and created a string of music's most influential work, including AQUEMINI, STANKONIA, SOUTHERNPLAYALISTICADILLACMUZIK, and SPEAKERBOXXX/THE LOVE BELOW—which went RIAA Diamond making OutKast the first and only hip-hop artist in history to win the GRAMMY® for 'Album of the Year.' Having already released ‘Kill Jill’ (featuring Killer Mike and Jeezy), ‘Mic Jack’ (featuring Adam Levine) and most recently ‘In The South’ (featuring Gucci Mane and Pimp C), Big Boi is set to deliver another diverse and influential album featuring some of the world’s greatest contemporary artists. Big Boi's 2010 solo debut, SIR LUCIOUS LEFT FOOT: THE SON OF CHICO DUSTY, bowed at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 and received unanimous critical acclaim with Pitchfork proclaiming it one of the "100 Best Albums of the Decade 'so far'" and topping year-end lists from time, paste, vibe, and more. His 2012 follow-up VICIOUS LIES AND DANGEROUS RUMORS enamoured tastemakers and fans alike and boasted collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Killer Mike, Kid Cudi, and more. In 2015, Big Boi collaborated with Phantogram to create supergroup Big Grams. Their debut self-titled album was released to critical and fan delight.

Black Sunday (2LP)

'We don't need to spend a lot of words on Cypress Hill's second album Black Sunday. The album's flagship song "Insane In The Brain" received major airplay on MTV, and struck a major chord with alternative youth as well as hip hop fans. This is a unique facet of Cypress Hill that sets them apart from other Hip Hop acts that appeal to Hip Hop heads exclusively: Cypress Hill managed to rise above the genre.

Their marijuana filled lyrics, detuned and cleverly found samples (for instance, the horse sound on "Insane In The Brain" is from a 60s children TV-show), funky beats and nasal raps of B Real make Black Sunday a little trip to an early '90s latino ghetto, with a huge fun factor.
