To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Roy Orbison's 1987 televised comeback concert at the Coconut Grove night club in Los Angeles, Black & White Night 30, a re-imagined, remastered version of the original television special, is available on vinyl. On Black & White Night 30, Roy is brilliantly backed by Elvis Presley's legendary TCB Band as they blast through massive Orbison hits such as "Only the Lonely," "In Dreams" and "Crying" just as the star-studded live audience witnessed them on that very night. The recording also features guest performances from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang, Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne from that night.

The follow-up to A Love So Beautiful features Roy Orbison vocal performances with brand-new orchestral arrangements by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Additional accompaniment from Roy’s three sons and backing vocals from their wives and children. That haunting voice, that unique look, those uplifting and emotional songs—there is only one Roy Orbison, and fans once again get to hear him in a new way on Unchained Melodies: Roy Orbison with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

This new album (the follow-up to last year’s A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra) infuses Orbison’s original vocal performances (both greatest hits and deep cuts selected with fan input) with the emotion and world-class musicianship of London’s most beloved orchestra, as heard on the international hit albums If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Wonder of You: Elvis Presley with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Working once again at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios, returning producers Nick Patrick and Don Reedman add elegant and spirited arrangements to accompany some of the most beloved gems from Orbison’s career—not only singles like “Blue Bayou,” “The Crowd” and “Crawling Back,” but fan favorites like “Heartbreak Radio” plus “California Blue,” “Danny Boy” and “Walk On,” three tracks that were included after Roy’s estate reached out to fans for their feedback.

Additionally, the album will feature instrumental backing from “Roy’s boys”: his three sons Wesley, Roy Jr. (on guitars) and Alex (playing drums). The album also features backing vocals on eight tracks from the “Orbison girls”: Emily Orbison (Wesley’s daughter), Jen Hicks (Wesley’s fiancé), Åsa Orbison (Roy Jr.’s wife) and Erika Wolf Orbison (Alex’s wife – their forthcoming daughter kicks along to the beat as well). Tracks like “Unchained Melody” and “Heartbreak Radio” feature as many as eight Orbisons, counting Roy himself.

Like the two Elvis collections that came before it, 'A Love So Beautiful' is produced by Don Reedman and Nick Patrick. The album combines the elegant and spirited arrangements of Roy's best original vocal performances with the emotion and world-class musicianship of London's most beloved orchestra.

'A Love So Beautiful' features the timeless Roy tracks "Oh, Pretty Woman", "You Got It", "Crying" and more while breathing new life into fan favorites such as "Drove All Night" and the title track "A Love So Beautiful" making for a beautiful exploration into the mastery of Roy's vocals.

Additionally, the album will feature instrumental backing from "Roy's boys": his three sons Wesley, Roy Jr. and Alex; plus Roy's grandson Roy Orbison III. The spiritual collaboration between three generations of Orbisons makes A Love So Beautiful a truly special experience, not just for fans, but for Roy's sons as well. Having never had the opportunity to record with their father in his lifetime, this collaboration makes for an emotional homecoming for Wesley, Roy Jr., Alex and Roy III.

The material covered on A Love So Beautiful is vast, ranging from the Sun Records era of Roy's career as a rockabilly musician in the 1950s ("Ooby Dooby"), through his early-mid 60s material on the Monument label where he hit his first commercial peak ("In Dreams," "Blue Angel," "Crying," "Dream Baby," "I'm Hurtin'," "It's Over," "Mean Woman Blues," "Only the Lonely," "Oh, Pretty Woman," "Love Hurts," "Uptown") up to his comeback in the late 80s before his untimely passing ("You Got It," "I Drove All Night," "A Love So Beautiful").

Lonely And Blue is Roy Orbison's first album, released in 1961. The album was not only a breakthrough for Orbison as his debut LP, but also for Rock & Roll. Up to that point, apart from Elvis Presley - who was in a class by himself - few white rock & rollers had even tried to make as bold a use of the LP as what we hear on this record. This release features remastered audio and 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
