Live At The Grand Olympic Auditorium documents a pair of Rage Against The Machine live shows in September 2000 in their hometown of Los Angeles, CA. Originally intended for release that same year, it was postponed twice due to the band's break-up and the formation of Audioslave by Tom MorelloTim Commerfordand Brad Wilk. It was finally released in 2003. Collecting highlights from the two shows, the 2LP, 16-song set includes material from all three of the band's acclaimed studio albums such as "Killing In The Name," "Bombtrack," "Bulls On Parade," "Bullet In The Head" and "Testify" along with covers of the MC5's "Kick Out The Jams" and EPMD's "I'm Housin" which appeared on their tribute album Renegades. Following three groundbreaking studio releases of original material, Rage Against The Machine returned in 2000 with Renegades, a tribute album paying homage to their musical heroes and philosophical roots. Displaying a broad variety of artists and genres, the diverse 12-song set includes material from the likes of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Minor Threat, Eric B. & Rakim, EPMD, MC5, The Rolling Stones, Devo and Cypress Hill among others. Rather than just give every song the obligatory Rage Against The Machine treatment, each cut is arranged distinctly here, resulting in an ambitious and musically varied affair. For instance, Afrika Bambaataa's "Renegades of Funk" and Eric B. & Rakim's "Microphone Fiend" have never been rocked so hard before, whereas Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad" finds the group as refined and musically daring as ever!

The Battle of Los Angeles
Rage Against the Machine's fiery and groovy third full-length effort, closed out the '90s in typical uncompromising fashion and is arguably the most focused and explosive collection of the band's trailblazing career. Tom Morello and company match Zach de la Rocha's political venom here with equal musical aplomb and never take their foot off the gas from opener "Testify" through to closer "War Within a Breath." Battle of Los Angeles was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and the single "Guerrilla Radio" won for Best Hard Rock Performance.

1996's Evil EmpireRage Against the Machine's hotly anticipated follow up to their explosive self-titled 1993 debut didn't disappoint as its brand of revolutionary rap/protest metal has never been matched elsewhere. Tom Morello again sets the pace here with his guitar wizardry while Zach De La Rocha assaults his subjects with rage and resolve. The results are both profound and just plain powerful. Evil Empire debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, "Bulls on Parade" and "People of the Sun" received Grammy nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance and "Tire Me" took home the 1996 Grammy for Best Metal Performance.

'After the success of Rage Against The Machine's eponymous debut LP and follow-up Evil Empire this third album is another hard-hitting set of songs full of political and social consciousness. With their catchy, yet raw heavy riffs and grooves they succeeded to release another album with actual hitsingles ("Guerilla Radio" and "Testify").

'Following 3 studio albums with original material, Rage Against The Machine offered a tribute to their musical heroes, showing a broad variety in their favourite artists and genres. Renegades includes songs originally made famous by artists like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Minor Threat, Eric B. & Rakim, EPMD, MC5, The Rolling Stones, Cypress Hill, Devo and Afrika Bambaataa.

In stead of just giving each song the hard-riffing-and-rapping treatment, each song is treated differently, resulting in a musically varied album. For instance, "Renegades of Funk" and "Microphone Fiend" have never been rocked so hard before, whereas "The Ghost of Tom Joad" is Rage Against The Machine more subtle than you've ever heard before!
