STREET HASSLE (VINYL LP)

STREET HASSLE (VINYL LP)

by Lou Reed
$34.95

Street Hassle is the eighth solo studio album by Lou Reed, released in February 1978. Richard Robinson and Reed produced the album. All of the songs on Street Hassle were written by Reed, including "Real Good Time Together", a track that dates back to his days as a member of the Velvet Underground.

The album was met with mostly positive reviews, "Raw, wounded, and unapologetically difficult, Street Hassle isn't the masterpiece Reed was shooting for, but it's still among the most powerful and compelling albums he released during the 1970s, and too personal and affecting to ignore.

BERLIN (VINYL LP)

by Lou Reed
$34.95

Nowadays acclaimed as Lou Reed's best solo album, Berlin is the follow up to Reed's Transformer. A tragic rock opera about a drug addicted couple, heavy orchestrated and musically far away from the glam-rock of Transformer and closer to the art-rock of the Velvet Underground. There are 2 tracks here played live by Velvet Underground in 1966, and "Caroline Says" is of course a redo of "Stephanie Says" from Velvet Underground's self- titled album.

TRANSFORMER (VINYL LP)

TRANSFORMER (VINYL LP)

by Lou Reed
$34.95

Produced by David Bowie & Mick Ronson, also handling guitar duties on all songs, Transformer is Lou Reed's 2nd solo album, but the first containing new songs (his debut consisted reworks of songs he wrote in his Velvet Underground days). "Walk On The Wild Side" became a worldwide hit, despite (or because) its lyrics: the single was edited or banned in various countries.

Transformer is considered Lou Reed's signature album and includes his most known songs as "Satellite Of Love", "Vicious" (inspired by Andy Warhol) and "Perfect Day". Rumours has it that, though not credited on the album, "Wagon Wheel" is actually written by David Bowie.

The RCA & Artista Album Collection (Boxset)

Lou Reed - The RCA & Arista Album Collection brings together, for the first time in one comprehensive anthology, 16 ground-breaking studio and live album titles written, recorded and often produced by Reed as a solo artist following the dissolution of the Velvet Underground in 1970.

Housed in a limited edition deluxe boxset, the Collection is packaged with an 80 page hardbound book, featuring rarely seen photos and artwork, interviews with Lou Reed throughout his career, memorabilia from Lou's personal archives, an introduction form co-producer and friend Hal Willner, five prints (8"x10") and a rare reproduced RCA promotional poster (598 mm X 572 mm). Each of the 16 albums in the 17CD library was newly remastered under Lou's direct personal supervision, a long-term project completed shortly before the artist's passing, at 71, on October 27, 2013. Lou Reed - The RCA & Arista Album Collection, produced by Lou Reed, Rob Santos, and Hal Willner offers fans access to several titles which have been out-of-print, hard-to-find or unavailable in the CD and digital music eras.

Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed’s wife and partner for twenty-one years said “Lou put his heart into remastering these records. They are not smoothed out. Sometimes remastering revealed their details and roughness in the most exciting ways. They leap out at you with their original energy.
