Pink Floyd - Vinyl

PACKAGING: 2 x Blue vinyl LPs in gatefold with printed inner sleeves

Pink Floyd Records is releasing a 25th anniversary edition of ‘The Division Bell’, the band’s 1994 multi-million selling album that included the Grammy Award winning track Marooned (Best Rock Instrumental Performance). Set for release on June 7th,  this 25th anniversary edition will be available on translucent blue vinyl (echoing the original limited blue vinyl release in 1994).

‘The Division Bell’ was the last studio album to be recorded by the band: David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, staying at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks; it also went to No 1 in six other countries and, to date, has reached total album sales of over 12 million. The album was recorded by the band at Astoria and Britannia Row Studios with the majority of the lyrics being written by Polly Samson and David Gilmour.

‘The Division Bell’ contains 11 tracks including A Great Day For Freedom, Keep Talking (featuring a sampled Stephen Hawking), High Hopes, and Pink Floyd’s only Grammy-awarded track, the instrumental ‘Marooned’. A video for Marooned was made for the 20th Anniversary Immersion release of the album and has now had almost 25 million views. The highly acclaimed video, directed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis, was shot on location in Chernobyl and also includes incredible footage from space taken by NASA. The author Douglas Adams suggested the title, based on a line of Polly Samson’s lyrics from ‘High Hopes’, referring to the parliamentary bell used to alert politicians to return to the House.

The Wall - 2016 Version (Vinyl)

The Wall - 2016 Version (Vinyl)

by Pink Floyd
Sold out
$59.99

“The Wall” is Pink Floyd’s eleventh studio album, the last studio album released with the classic line-up of guitarist David Gilmour, bassist/lyricist Roger Waters, keyboardist Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason before Wright left the band. Released as a double album in November 1979, it was supported by a tour with elaborate theatrical effects, and adapted into a 1982 feature film, ’Pink Floyd – The Wall’. The album features the band's only number one single ‘Another Brick in the Wall Part 2’.

One of the most acclaimed concept albums of all time, “The Wall” is renowned as Roger Waters’ Rock Opera dealing with abandonment and personal isolation. Featuring the unique artwork of Gerald Scarfe, the album also yielded the US & UK No. 1 hit Another Brick In The Wall Pt2., and was subsequently adapted for cinema by Alan Parker featuring Bob Geldof in the lead role.

“The Wall” features a harsher and more theatrical style than Pink Floyd's previous albums. Wright left the band during its production but remained as a salaried musician, performing with Pink Floyd during the Wall tour.

      The Endless River (Vinyl) (2LP)

      by Pink Floyd
      $49.99

Iconic rock pioneers Pink Floyd return with their 15th studio album.  The band are rock n roll hall of fame inductees and have sold over 250 million records world wide.
‘The Endless River’ is  the new  album from David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason.
Details were revealed  as the album artwork appeared on buildings in ten International cities, including New York, Los Angeles and Sydney.
David Gilmour said “The Endless River Has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions. We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album. Over the last year we've added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album. With Rick gone, and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire”.
‘The Endless River’ is mainly a four-sided instrumental album with one song, ‘Louder Than Words’, which will include new lyrics by Polly Samson.

“The Division Bell” is Pink Floyd’s fourteenth studio album, released in March 1994.

The production team included Pink Floyd stalwarts such as producer Bob Ezrin, engineer Andy Jackson and saxophonist Dick Parry. Gilmour's new wife, Polly Samson, co-wrote many of the album's lyrics, and Wright performed his first lead vocal on a Pink Floyd album since 1973's ”The Dark Side of the Moon”.

      Released March 1983

The Wall was conceived as a multi-media platform, including a feature film, and in due course Pink Floyd The Wall was released. Extra material written for the film was originally to be compiled as Spare Bricks, and this mutated into The Final Cut.

Roger Waters wrote every song, and Richard Wright was not included, having left the band during the Wall sessions (returning for A Momentary Lapse Of Reason). The Final Cut was described by David Quantick in UK’s UnCut magazine as “a cogent and furious collection of completely personal and also universal songs”.

        Meddle - 2016 Version (Vinyl)

        by Pink Floyd
        $44.90

“Meddle” is Pink Floyd’s sixth studio album, released in 1971. It was produced between the band's touring commitments, from January to August 1971. The album was recorded at a series of locations around London, including Abbey Road Studios and Morgan Studios.

With no material to work with and no clear idea of the album's direction, the group devised a series of novel experiments which eventually inspired the album's signature track, "Echoes". Although many of the band's later albums would be unified by a central theme with lyrics written mainly by Roger Waters, Meddle was a group effort with lyrical contributions from each member, and is considered a transitional album between the Syd Barrett-influenced group of the late 1960s and the emerging Pink Floyd. The cover, incorporating a close-up shot of an ear underwater was, as with several previous albums, designed by Hipgnosis.
