101 – Live is the classic live album from Depeche Mode, released in 1989, which chronicles the final leg of the band's Music for the Masses Tour and the final show at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Group member Alan Wilder is credited with coming up with the name; the performance was the 101st and final performance of the tour (and coincidentally also a famous highway in the area). The film was directed and produced by D.A. Pennebaker.

Their second album ”A Broken Frame” was released in 1982 and shows a growing band in its early stages, a group that's searching for direction and focus. Its versatility and highly diverse set of quintessential Eighties Pop make this a very interesting album, and every Depeche Mode fan that's eager to get an understanding of the makings of the group should own this record. Key member Alan Wilder was already touring with the band at this time, but has not yet been involved with recording ”A Broken Frame”. Their next effort however, ”Construction Time Again” would feature Wilder in the arranging seat, thus shaping the unique sound of Depeche Mode forever.

Black Celebration is the fifth studio album from Depeche Mode. Released in March 1986, it further cemented the darkening sound that was initially hinted towards on their albums Construction Time Again and Some Great Reward.

Black Celebration was cited as one of the most influential albums of the '80s. Singles from Black Celebration include “Stripped”, “A Question of Lust”, “A Question of Time”, and “But Not Tonight”.

The third album of Depeche Mode ”Construction Time Again” (1983) was the first one to include talented band member and arranger Alan Wilder to the mix. The album was recorded in John Foxx's The Garden studio in London and mixed in the famous Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin, the latter being famous for its delivery of classic albums by artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave and U2.

Experimenting with brand new instruments like the Synclavier that allowed sampling to be manipulated musically, ”Construction Time Again” was a ground-breaking record that included industrial influences. These influences would come to full fruition on subsequent albums ”Some Great Reward” and ”Black Celebration”. Songs like ‘Pipeline’, ‘Love In Itself’, ‘Shame’ and ‘Everything Counts’ turned out to become classic Depeche material.

Exciter is the tenth studio album by Depeche Mode, released in May 2001. The album

was produced by Mark Bell of Björk and LFO fame. The album also launched the
Exciter Tour, one of the band's most successful tours.

On Exciter, Depeche Mode have created an autobiography in the lyrics that, for the first
time, strikes a chord with skeptics and believers alike. Singer David Gahan's battle with
addiction and its horrendous pitfalls took its toll in their 1990s releases

Includes the singles “Freelove”,  “Dream On” and “Goodnight Lovers”.

Sounds Of The Universe' is one of Depeche's lower-key albums, but not without explosive

or dramatic moments by any means. The sense of older styles and sounds, classic drum
machines, early synthesizers, a rumbling bass undercarriage, serves new purposes. On the
whole, 'Sounds Of The Universe' is a grower, relying on a few listens to fully take effect, but
when it does, it shows Depeche Mode are still able to combine pop-hook accessibility and
their own take on 'roots' music for an electronic age with sonic experimentation and
recombination - not bad for a band with almost three decades under its collective belt.
