Bob Dylan - More Blood, More Tracks - The Bootleg Series Vol. 14
- the latest chapter in Columbia/Legacy's highly acclaimed Bob Dylan Bootleg Series makes available the pivotal studio recordings made by Bob Dylan during six extraordinary sessions in 1974--four in New York (September 16, 17, 18, 19) and two in Minneapolis (December 27, 30)--that resulted in the artist's 1975 masterpiece, Blood On The Tracks. One of the top-selling albums of Dylan's career, Blood On The Tracks redefined the boundaries and structures of modern pop songwriting (a genre Dylan had virtually invented a decade prior), reached #1 on the Billboard 200, achieved RIAA 2x Platinum status and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2015.

The single disc of More Blood, More Tracks assembles 10 of the most emotionally resonant alternate takes of each of the 10 songs appearing the original Blood On The Tracks plus a previously unreleased version of "Up to Me."

    NASHVILLE SKYLINE (GOLD SERIES)

    NASHVILLE SKYLINE (GOLD SERIES)

    by Bob Dylan
    $9.99
'Nashville Skyline' is the ninth studio album by Bob Dylan, released in 1969.

Building on the rustic style he experimented with on John Wesley Harding, 'Nashville Skyline' displayed a complete immersion into country music.

Along with the more basic lyrical themes, simple songwriting structures, and charming domestic feel, it introduced audiences to a radically new singing voice from Dylan—a soft, affected country croon.

The result received a generally positive reaction from critics, and was a commercial success. Reaching number 3 in the U.S., the album also scored Dylan his fourth UK No. 1 album.

    JOHN WESLEY HARDING (GOLD SERIES)
John Wesley Harding is Bob Dylan's eighth studio album, released in December 1967.

The album marked Dylan's return to acoustic music and traditional roots, after three albums of electric Rock music. John Wesley Harding shares many stylistic threads with, and was recorded around the same time as, the prolific series of home recording sessions with The Band, finally released in 1975 as The Basement Tapes.

The album was ranked number 301 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Accompanied by multiple session musicians—including members of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Howie Epstein—the album has a distinct "80s style" aesthetic.[1] Fans and critics continue to debate the album's merits, especially when compared to his 1960s and 1970s output.

ANOTHER SIDE OF BOB DYLAN (GOLD SERIES)

'Another Side of Bob Dylan' is Bob Dylan's fourth studio album, originally released on August 8, 1964.

The album deviates from the more socially conscious style which Dylan had developed with his previous LP, The Times They Are A-Changin'.

Despite the album's thematic shift, Dylan performed the entirety of Another Side of Bob Dylan as he had previous records – solo. In addition to his usual acoustic guitar and harmonica, Dylan provides piano on one selection, "Black Crow Blues".

Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Bob Dylan - Trouble No More - The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 / 1979-1981 on Friday, November 3.
The latest chapter in Columbia/Legacy's highly acclaimed Bob Dylan Bootleg Series showcases the music Dylan wrote and performed during one of the most surprising, controversial and inspired periods of his career.
As the 1970s ended and the 1980s began, Dylan responded to the changing of the decades with a three album trilogy--Slow Train Coming (1979), Saved (1980) and Shot of Love (1981)--of spirit-filled songs of praise, worship and devotion. These songs were as deeply personal and packed with poetics as any Dylan had ever written, but the force of conviction and power of faith evident in these performances baffled segments of Dylan's fanbase (just as Dylan's "going electric" had alienated folk purists in 1965).

The live concerts from this crucial epoch in Dylan's history contain some of the most intensely jubilant and transcendent performances of his career. Bob Dylan - Trouble No More - The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 / 1979-1981 offers fans and music lovers the opportunity to fully experience for the first time this extraordinary chapter in Bob Dylan's musical journey.
With the exception of "Ye Shall Be Changed," released in 1991 on The Bootleg Series, Vol. 1-3), none of the tracks on Trouble No More have been previously released. This collection debuts 14 previously unreleased songs and a multitude of unreleased live performances, rare studio outtakes and more.

The Bootleg Series 1-3 (3CD Bookset)

The collection that was originally released in 1991 featured rare and unreleased recordings from the sessions for 1962’s debut Bob Dylan to 1989’s Oh Mercy.

It is absolutely humbling, given the quality of the material on this 3CD, 58-song set, to think that these are the Dylan compositions that DIDN'T make the cut for his albums! Includes long-rumoured songs (“She's Your Lover Now”; “Blind Willie McTell”), alternate versions (of the songs on Blood on the Tracks, for instance), live cuts and more unreleased treasures. A must.
Bob Dylan has always been incredibly prolific, only releasing a fraction of what he records. Such a policy has made him a prime target for bootleggers over the years, finally prompting this sanctioned 1991 triple-disc dive into the Dylan vaults. It consists of rare tracks, unreleased outtakes, early versions of classics ("Times They Are a-Changin‘“, "Like a Rolling Stone“, "I Shall Be Released"), and alternate versions that sometimes cut the originals ("Idiot Wind"). A measure of Dylan's depth is his list of discarded songs ("She's Your Lover Now“, "Blind Willie McTell“, "Series of Dreams") that would be the crown jewels of most catalogues. These 58 tracks serve as a shadow history of one of our most important artists.
