The 1996 sessions for “No Code” featured longtime producer Brendan O'Brien (his third consecutive collaboration with the band) and drummer Jack Irons, who'd joined the band at the end of the Vitalogy sessions.

They explored new approaches to writing and recording, developing songs out of jam sessions and eschewing their stadium-rock style for self-examining ballads, garage rock and even psychedelic sounds. “No Code” became the band's third consecutive No. 1 album, with lead single "Who You Are" topping Billboard's Modern Rock chart. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of “No Code” , Pearl Jam are reissuing the original singles from the album are being released as 7” vinyl singles.

10 is the tenth studio album from “The Stranglers” and was the last to feature guitarist/lead singer Hugh Cronwell. The album was released in 1990. ’10’ peaked at No. 15 and spent four weeks in the UK Albums Chart.

There was a Big Band sound to this album, possibly due to the production work of Roy Thomas Baker and the continued use of a horn section. One of the highlights was the cover version of Question Mark & The Mysterians hit ‘96 Tears’(which reached No. 17 in the UK Singles Chart)

The album sleeve shows the members of the band dressed up as ten of the most notable world leaders of the time ( Yasser Arafat, Rajiv Gandhi, Pope John Paul 11, Mikhail Gorbachev, Margret Thatcher, George H.W. Bush, Fidel Castro, Muammar al-Gaddafi, Benazir Bhutto and Joshua Nkomo.)

This early Midnight Oil release contains many of the songs and stances which they would come to be identified with. A political album, the most unconservative Oils stomp their way through the incendiary US Forces and Power And The Passion. The intense Short Memory tells of their anti-war agenda, while Only the Strong remains one of their most potent tracks. Unbelievably excellent.

101 – Live is the classic live album from Depeche Mode, released in 1989, which chronicles the final leg of the band's Music for the Masses Tour and the final show at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Group member Alan Wilder is credited with coming up with the name; the performance was the 101st and final performance of the tour (and coincidentally also a famous highway in the area). The film was directed and produced by D.A. Pennebaker.

    1969 - Dramatis/Ation (2CD/DVD/Blu-Ray)

In 1969 Pink Floyd unveiled their 2-part conceptual live production of ‘The Man’ and ‘The Journey’, covering a 24-hour period of dreaming, waking and other activities. Never released in that form, however some of the songs were used on the ‘More’ soundtrack and the ‘Ummagumma’ album. This volume refers back to ‘The Man’ and ‘The Journey’ tour with live performances in Amsterdam and for the BBC in London, but also includes the bonus tracks from the ‘More’ soundtrack that were used in the film but not on record, plus non-album tracks like the early version of Embryo from the Harvest sampler ‘Picnic’.

    1970 - Devi/Ation (2CD/2DVD/Blu-Ray)

At the end of 1969 and in the early part of 1970, Pink Floyd recorded and mixed their contribution to Michelangelo Antonioni’s alternative view of US society, ‘Zabriskie Point’. 3 songs were released on the soundtrack album, and a further 4 in the expanded CD edition in 1997. Never released on one Pink Floyd disc, this volume compiles remixed and updated versions of the ‘Zabriskie Point’ audio material.

In 1972 Pink Floyd travelled to Hérouville, north of Paris, to record at Strawberry Studios there, based in the town’s Chateau. In a remarkable two weeks, they wrote and recorded one of their most cohesive albums, ‘Obscured By Clouds’, the soundtrack to Barbet Schroeder’s ‘La Vallée’.

1972 saw the release of ‘Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii’, a film of the band performing without an audience in the historic Roman amphitheatre of Pompeii, directed by Adrian Maben. The video material includes the performances from the ‘Live At Pompeii’ film, edited to new 5.1 audio mixes, plus material from contemporary French TV as well as performances from Brighton Dome in June 1972 and further performances with the Roland Petit ballet company:

'Without a doubt IN FLAMES are one of the most successful and influential Swedish Metal bands. Together with At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity they are one of the forefathers of the “Gothenburg sound” which did not only heavily influence melodic death metal artists such as Insomnium, Soilwork, Wintersun or Eluveitie, but also left an undeniable mark on modern metal which brought us bands like Trivium, Killswitch Engage or Caliban. Century Media Records is releasing all albums plus the “Black-Ash Inheritance”-EP and legendary “Demo ‘93” in a strictly limited, hand numbered and luxurious vinyl collector’s box that comes with the following 13 discs all of which are 180g vinyl All songs are remastered by David Donnelly at DNA Mastering (Aerosmith, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Blink 182, KISS, Miley Cyrus, Mötley Crüe and many more).

TOTO is pleased to announce a February 9th worldwide release date on Legacy Recordings for their brand new Greatest Hits package titled 40 Trips Around The Sun.  The 17 track album features three previously unreleased recordings: “Spanish Sea” “Alone” and “Struck By Lightning” alongside newly remastered classic tracks worked on by Elliot Scheiner & Gavin Lurssen and his team.  The core Toto members, Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Joseph Williams re-entered the studio earlier this year to work on this release.

While going through the Sony vaults, the band uncovered several unfished tracks that featured both Jeff and Mike Porcaro, one of which is now “Spanish Sea.”  “This track is originally from the Isolation sessions,” Steve Lukather commented.  “It’s one that didn't make it and we had to re-write it including creating a new chorus. Thanks to modern tech we were able to play once again with not only our 20 something selves but with our dear brothers Jeff and Mike Porcaro reminding us just how deep their groove was. Bittersweet... Many stories, laughs and a few tears on this one.  It’s classic Toto with an excellent solo and I kept my old 1985 melody solo Dave wanted me to do... Old meets new but since legendary pal Al Schmitt cut the tracks and Bob Clearmountain mixed...it sounds like it was done 2 weeks ago not 30 + years ago!”

“Alone is a brand new song,” Lukather remarked.  “This one was written with just the four of us really writing together and no one else in the room with us. We wanted to start with an ‘up’ song in terms of groove for the album. The lyric is darker but we are older guys now and have lived life. The good, bad and ugly... we have lived it all and in the end we are all alone anyway. Proud of this piece and it just sort of organically happened.”

The third new track on 40 Trips Around The Sun: “Struck By Lightning” began with David Paich.  “I had the opening riff in my head for months,” Paich said.  “Joe and the guys helped flesh this one out.  I love the heavy arrangement and Luke’s solo on it is an all-time great!”

Few ensembles in the history of recorded music have individually or collectively had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of TOTO.  As individuals, the band members can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums.  Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with more than 200 Grammy nominations.  Toto has over 400 million streams on Spotify alone along while views on YouTube far exceed over a half billion.

With close to 40 years together and literally thousands of credits, including the biggest selling album of all time: Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and accolades to their names, TOTO remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world. They are the benchmark by which many artists base their sound and production, and they continue to transcend the standards set by the entire music community, being simply synonymous with musical credibility.  Their repertoire continues to be current via high profile usage on broadcast television.  They are pop culture, and are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles to a career enjoy a multi-generational worldwide fan base.

74 Jailbreak is an EP by Australian rock band AC/DC, comprising five tracks that had previously been released only in Australia.

'74 Jailbreak features forgotten tracks from the band's early days. “Jailbreak” automatically became a concert standard when the EP came out, and it remains a mystery why it wasn't released earlier. Also included is the largely instrumental “Soul Stripper”, a cover of “Baby Please Don't Go”, plus a pair of Angus Young, Malcolm Young & Bon Scott originals: “You Ain't Got a Hold on Me” and the autobiographical “Show Business”.

Their second album ”A Broken Frame” was released in 1982 and shows a growing band in its early stages, a group that's searching for direction and focus. Its versatility and highly diverse set of quintessential Eighties Pop make this a very interesting album, and every Depeche Mode fan that's eager to get an understanding of the makings of the group should own this record. Key member Alan Wilder was already touring with the band at this time, but has not yet been involved with recording ”A Broken Frame”. Their next effort however, ”Construction Time Again” would feature Wilder in the arranging seat, thus shaping the unique sound of Depeche Mode forever.

Available on vinyl for the first time, the career-spanning compilation features some of the best-known album tracks from across Pink Floyd’s career, 1967 – 1994, as well as the UK Top 10 single ‘See Emily Play’.
Newly mastered for vinyl in 2018 by longstanding Pink Floyd associate James Guthrie, with Joel Plante, and with lacquers cut by Bernie Grundman of Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles, California, the 2-LP version features at least one difference from the CD version. ‘Time’ is slightly longer, with the ringing alarm clocks at the start of the track reinstated.
The original artwork, art directed by the late Storm Thorgerson, has been amended by Pink Floyd Creative Director Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis with Peter Curzon, to include alternate versions of the photographs used in the CD version. The album package comes in a gatefold outer sleeve, with two separate printed inner bags, and is pressed on heavyweight 180 gram vinyl.

Like the two Elvis collections that came before it, 'A Love So Beautiful' is produced by Don Reedman and Nick Patrick. The album combines the elegant and spirited arrangements of Roy's best original vocal performances with the emotion and world-class musicianship of London's most beloved orchestra.

'A Love So Beautiful' features the timeless Roy tracks "Oh, Pretty Woman", "You Got It", "Crying" and more while breathing new life into fan favorites such as "Drove All Night" and the title track "A Love So Beautiful" making for a beautiful exploration into the mastery of Roy's vocals.

Additionally, the album will feature instrumental backing from "Roy's boys": his three sons Wesley, Roy Jr. and Alex; plus Roy's grandson Roy Orbison III. The spiritual collaboration between three generations of Orbisons makes A Love So Beautiful a truly special experience, not just for fans, but for Roy's sons as well. Having never had the opportunity to record with their father in his lifetime, this collaboration makes for an emotional homecoming for Wesley, Roy Jr., Alex and Roy III.

The material covered on A Love So Beautiful is vast, ranging from the Sun Records era of Roy's career as a rockabilly musician in the 1950s ("Ooby Dooby"), through his early-mid 60s material on the Monument label where he hit his first commercial peak ("In Dreams," "Blue Angel," "Crying," "Dream Baby," "I'm Hurtin'," "It's Over," "Mean Woman Blues," "Only the Lonely," "Oh, Pretty Woman," "Love Hurts," "Uptown") up to his comeback in the late 80s before his untimely passing ("You Got It," "I Drove All Night," "A Love So Beautiful").

A Momentary Lapse of Reason is Pink Floyd’s thirteenth studio album,  released in September 1987. It followed guitarist David Gilmour's decision to include material recorded for his third solo album on a new Pink Floyd album with Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Richard Wright. Although for legal reasons Wright could not be re-admitted to the band, with Mason he helped Gilmour craft what became the first Pink Floyd album since the departure of bass guitarist, singer, and primary songwriter Roger Waters in December 1985.

A TRIBUTE TO MARIO LANZA (CD)

A TRIBUTE TO MARIO LANZA (CD)

      by Mark Vincent
      $9.95
Eight years after he won Australia's heart and went on to record seven chart-topping albums with worldwide sales exceeding half a million units, Mark Vincent is about to set a new benchmark: a 'virtual duet' with one of the giants of the Golden Age of Hollywood, Mario Lanza.

In his forthcoming album, 'A Tribute To Mario Lanza,' Mark sings alongside Mario in 'Because You're Mine,' one of the legendary movie star's biggest hits. Re-mastered and re-edited, the song, taken from the MGM musical of the same name, is given a fresh and brilliant new dynamic with the addition of Mark's rich tenor tones.

Like Mark, Mario Lanza was a handsome tenor frequently compared to Enrico Caruso, who inspired him and whom he portrayed in The Great Caruso, the top grossing movie of 1951. Lanza died in 1958, just 10 years after he made his Hollywood debut. By then he was the most famous tenor in the world, adored by millions around the world.

"It's an amazing thrill to be singing with the greatest tenor of his time," Mark says, "I feel, in a humble way, I am simpatico with him. We were both brought up in Italian families - he was raised in Philadelphia - where there was a lot of love, but also a lot of hard times. That seems to go with the territory. As a kid, Caruso performed in cafes, singing Neapolitan favourites. I sang for customers at my grandfather Bruno's pizza shop from the age of five. For tenors, apparently, it's never too soon to start!"

Ellisa Lanza Bregman, Mario Lanza's daughter, has given her imprimatur to Mark and the album, "As the trustee of my father's legacy, his reputation, and his memory, I'm pleased to allow his recorded voice to be joined on this historic recording by the exciting young Australian tenor, Mark Vincent.  Like all artists, tenors are competitive, but they share a special bond: a heritage that goes back to Caruso and a mutual acknowledgement of the artistic links that influenced their careers. Mario Lanza, my father, also grew up listening to Caruso's recordings. Eventually he came to be compared to him. In turn, Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras and many other artists - Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley among them - told of their love of Mario Lanza and how he had inspired them.

Mark Vincent, I wish you every success and I know that this unique recording will be sought after and cherished by music lovers everywhere."
Mark Vincent stole headlines in 2009 when he won Australia's Got Talent. Since then he has accrued seven back-to-back #1 albums on the ARIA Classical chart and sold out national headline tours. Now, in addition to the release of 'A Tribute To Mario Lanza,' Vincent stars in the Julie Andrews' stage production of My Fair Lady, touring Australia nationally this year.

Pressed on black 140gram vinyl, A Version Of Now is Peter Garrett's debut solo album, seeing the Midnight Oils frontman enter the studio once more.

      A note from Peter:
As I was finishing my memoir, melodies and lines kept dropping into my head and I ended up reaching for a guitar and writing a few songs. It was a surprise to discover the creative spring flowing again. But once these accidental tunes were out in the sunlight I decided to jump into a studio and give them life, along with a few other snippets from another age I'd always liked. I wanted to capture my version of now: a reflection of turbulent decades spent at full stretch, and the person - Doris - places and things that mean the world to me. With the parachute opening quickly, Martin Rotsey came on board to play guitar and was a great sounding board. Later, Pete Luscombe of 'RocKwiz' fame and numerous Paul Kelly bands, Mark Wilson previously in Jet, Heather Shannon from The Jezabels, and Jamie Hutchings  formerly of Bluebottle Kiss, and now Infinity Broke, plus my daughters Em, May and Grace, joined in. I can't thank all the players enough for giving so much to this rush of music making.  Burke Reid who has worked with The Drones, Courtney Barnett and a host of others, did a mighty job producing the record with me at Rancom St Studios in Botany, and we mixed at Harry Vanda's Hercules Studios in Surry Hills.

      A Way You'll Never Be (2LP+CD)

      by John Wesley
      $44.99

A Way You'll Never Be,' the eighth studio album from John Wesley, brings a modernized return to the classic progressive rock albums of the Seventies.

Wesley is standing on the shoulders of his influences such as Rush, Pink Floyd, and Porcupine Tree with the stylings of guitarists such as Robin Trower, Jeff Beck, and Warren Haynes.

John Wesley has built a long and varied career as a songwriter, "sideman" guitarist, and recording artist. His music has been called lyrically sensitive and musically dynamic. His songwriting style incorporates emotionally-charged vocals that evoke the honesty and intimacy of Roger Waters and Patty Griffin coupled with a melodic yet intricate guitar style reminiscent of David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson, and Jeff Beck.

John Wesley has performed as sideman, guitarist/vocalist for critically acclaimed UK based recording act Porcupine Tree, during the "In Absentia," "Deadwing," "Fear of a Blank Planet," and "The Incident" world tours. He has performed in the band for nine years, culminating in 2010 with sold out performances at Radio City Music Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.
